Most of the cameras in my collection arrived strictly by chance. I inherited them from parents and grandparents or they were given to me by relatives because I was the person in the family most interested in photography. The few that I purchased were bought to be used, not collected. After starting this site, a few people have donated cameras. Think of these camera as a random sampling through time. As such, we see the evolution of that cultural phenomenon, photography, through one family’s eyes.
